Michael E. After a year as Assistant Professor at Denison University, he was Professor of Philosophy at Tulane University〔http://www.tulane.edu/~mcgovern/zimmerman/essays/integral_ecology/humanitys_relation_to_gaia.htm〕 from 1975 to 2005, and Director of the Institute for Humanities and the Arts at Tulane. He is also affiliated with the Integral Institute. Together with Sean Esbjörn-Hargens, he wrote a book on integral ecology, ''Integral Ecology: Uniting Multiple Perspectives on the Natural World''. Since 2006, Zimmerman has been a faculty member at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
